Performance

In November of 2002, Smokey DeVille performed what he would become best known for as he amazed attendees of Black Market Chicago's Vampire's Halloween Ball with a demonstration of fire eating, fire breathing, and glass torture (walking on broken glass, lying on broken glass with audience members standing on him, etc.). He was known best for his grandiose fire manipulations, closing his performances with a series of massive fire breaths, the final usually reaching 16-20 feet in size. In the years that followed, DeVille has performed his act in such places as Jungle Night Club (Chicagolands largest night club), Glow, and Vision, as well as two consecutive years performing at Marche's New Year's Eve celebrations. His act has appeared in two episodes of After Hours Television.

After February of 2003, tighter restrictions regarding fire performances inside indoor venues made it increasingly difficult for DeVille to book in Chicago. For two more years he toned down his act and performed in various smaller venues.
